Mapping Out Braces with Magnets

Heres a tip when you need to map out a brace layout for an acoustic guitar. I use small rare earth magnets that run beside the brace from one end to the other. Then using a plastic straight edge I transfer the layout to paper by connecting the dots (or in this case, magnets). A great technique when making clamping cauls for repair work. I used this method here for making a caul for a pick guard re-glue.
